    Overview

Enjoy one of Iceland's many marvels, and venture off to the gorgeous Icelandic countryside of moss covered lava to Reykjanes GeoPark. Board your coach and drive to Reykjanes GeoPark; a UNESCO GLOBAL GEOPARK that offers a unique experience of geological wonders. The peninsula, with its diversity of volcanic and geothermal activity is also the only place in the world where the Mid-Atlantic ridge is visible above sea level. The peninsula is also home to many important geological formations, some of which are fantastically unique, which include numerous types of volcanoes where hundreds of fissures and faults are visible to the naked eye. Continue to Garðskagi, home to two striking lighthouses steeped in history. Delve into the tales of the older lighthouse, once praised for its low stature that defied mist but faced the constant threat of sea damage. Discover the newer, towering lighthouse, a beacon of safety and a testament to Icelandic engineering prowess. Continue to Hvalsneskirkja, a charming church nestled against the backdrop of the peninsula. Take a moment to appreciate the simple beauty of this historical site and learn about its cultural significance. The church's tranquil surroundings provide a perfect conclusion to our Reykjanes Peninsula Extravaganza. Next, we journey to the symbolic meeting point of two tectonic plates – the Bridge between Continents. Straddle the North American and Eurasian plates as you stand on the footbridge spanning a dramatic fissure. Feel the unique energy of being in two places at once, capturing the essence of Iceland's geological significance. The landscape is nothing short of awe-inspiring, providing a tangible connection to the Earth's dynamic forces. Continue your adventure to Brimketill, a natural rock pool carved by the sea. Marvel at the dramatic coastal scenery and the unique geologic formations. Legend has it that this pool was a favorite bathing spot for trolls – immerse yourself in folklore and let the rugged beauty of Brimketill leave an indelible mark on your journey. Our tour continues to Reykjanesviti, Iceland's oldest lighthouse, standing proudly on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Steeped in history, this iconic landmark has guided sailors safely home for centuries. Our journey then takes us to the breathtaking Valahnúkamöl, a coastal cliff formation that will leave you breathless. Marvel at the sheer beauty of the rugged cliffs, the crashing waves, and the panoramic views of the open sea. As the day draws to a close, return to the pier, carrying with you memories of an unforgettable expedition through Iceland's natural wonders.
