Overview

Embark on a journey to the lovely Blue Lagoon. At the lagoon, guests can enjoy a relaxing bathe in the surreal milky waters of Iceland’s most famous geothermal Spas – The Blue Lagoon. So what exactly IS the Blue Lagoon? Well, it is Iceland's most unique and popular attraction. Guests will enjoy bathing and relaxing in Blue Lagoon geothermal seawater, known for its positive effects on the skin. A visit to the spa promotes harmony between body, mind and spirit, and enables one to soak away the stresses of modern life. The spa's guests rekindle their relationship with nature, soak up the scenic beauty and enjoy breathing the clean, fresh air. In addition to bathing in the lagoon guests have access to a sauna with a view of the lagoon, a sauna with white walls that resemble silica mud and a cozy steam bath carved into a lava cave. Of course, guests bathing in the milky waters of the lagoon have easy access to the famous white silica mud, an essential part of this ultimate in spa experiences.

Important details and advisements

  • Guests must be able to walk approximately .2 miles over paved surfaces, with inclines and steps and extended periods of standing.
  • Guests in wheelchairs and others with limited mobility should not select this tour. The men’s locker area is on the 2nd floor and elevators are not provided at the area, stairs only.
  • Guests must be able to climb into the coach and take a few, small steps on their own.
  • Guests needing special assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied companion.
  • Guests are encouraged to dress to local weather conditions.
  • Guests should not carry or wear valuable items for this active excursion.
  • Water temperatures run between 98 and 104 degrees.
  • Tour does not include lunch.
  • 2.5 hours at the Blue Lagoon includes checking in, showering, bathing in lagoon and dressing.
  • Avoid alcohol before water activities.
  • Guests must be of legal age at least 20 years old to consume alcohol.
  • Guide will designate a time and place to rejoin your coach for return to ship.
  • Guests who miss the return transportation will be responsible for getting back to the ship.
  • The drive between port and lagoon is approximately 45 minutes each way.
  • It is not permitted to wear swimsuits under clothing.
  • Locker facilities at all Iceland’s pools and lagoons are gender-divided. Showers are communal.
  • Due to hygienic purposes, it is required in Iceland to wash with soap and water without bathing suit, before entering the lagoon.
  • Towel and one drink of choice are included.
  • The lagoon’s minerals may stain jewelry.
  • Shoes are not to be worn inside the locker/shower area and must be stored on assigned shoe shelves or in plastic bags and stored inside lockers.
  • Children under 2 years of age are not allowed in the water. The water is too hot and minerals too strong for their sensitive skin.
  • Guests visiting this location do so at their own risk. Please note that this tour location includes inherent and natural dangers that should be appreciated before agreeing to participate in the excursion. The remote location of this tour is not in close proximity to any emergency and/or support infrastructure. Make certain you are aware of these risks before purchase.

  • Digital wristbands will be provided so guests can store clothing and personal items inside lockers; lost wristbands will be charged by the Blue Lagoon. Blue Lagoon staff will demonstrate how to lock the lockers with the wristbands.
